River Guardian - volunteers needed to test water quality and report results at rivers and streams local to you

Training will be provided for interested volunteers to become River Guardians on:
Wednesday 30th January
10am - 3pm
Wilmslow Parish Hall, Cliff Road, Wilmslow SK9 4AA

We will be putting 'Citizen Science' into action and learning how to test water for chemicals, pH and temperature. Attendees will be encouraged to ’Adopt a Spot’ along a river or stream near them, and become a River Guardian. You must be able to carry out water tests at least once a month.

You don't need any experience, just suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes, and access to the internet to be able to submit results of your water tests online. All other equipment and training will be provided on the day, and our Project Officer will be able to support you thereafter.

This work helps us to see where there is water pollution and we can direct our work to try and solve some of these problems. By becoming a River Guardian you will be helping the local environment, so why not get involved?
